In another manner, the presenting machine uses a plastic roll forming strategy to convert plain tubes into corrugated ones.
The rotary holding station and the forming station are two strategically placed stations on this machine.
Two radial rollers with adjustable centre distances are used at the rotary station to simultaneously hole and feed the tube forward when working with tubes of various diameters.
A tiny forming roller made of high strength and hard carbon steel is used at the forming station to create the corrugations.
A rectangular threaded screw that is installed at the top side of the forming station allows the forming roller to be moved downward.
For various pitched helical corrugations, the roller’s angle can also be changed.
The tube is supported by another roller at the forming station either on the opposite side of the forming roller or at the bottom of the forming station due to the enormous forces created by the forming roller.
This support stops the tube from bending while it is being formed.
This support is installed at a specific angle to prevent any erosion between the tube and roller.
The forming roller forms the tube by tightening the screw at the top side of the forming station, and due to its angle, it pulls the tube from the rotary holder into its station.
A simple tube can be made to have a helical corrugation by moving forward and rotating the tube.
To avoid any kind of damage to various components of the forming station, it is advised to perform the process in more than one step when dealing with high deep sluts.
An electric motor with three phases that is coupled to a gearbox rotates the rotary holder. The rotary holder and electric motor’s rotational speed are managed by the inventor.
After one pass of forming, two mechanical microswitches installed on the left and right sides of the machine reverse the angle of the motor for deep corrugated tubes.
The distance between these microswitches controls how long the corrugation runs through the tube.
